Andalusia has strengthened its position as one of Europe's leading hubs for flexible accommodation , becoming the most sought-after region on the continent in this segment, ahead of traditional destinations such as the French Riviera and Jadranska in Croatia.
Flexible accommodation—encompassing everything from flex buildings and serviced apartments to villas, branded residences, and senior living—has become one of the fastest-growing sectors at the intersection of tourism and real estate investment. In this context, Andalusia is emerging as a particularly competitive destination due to its volume, product diversity, and ability to attract international demand.
Flexible accommodation is establishing itself as one of the most dynamic categories in the European real estate market. Investment is constantly adjusting to evolving demand: the number of beds in flexible buildings has increased fivefold since 2020 and is projected to triple by 2028, reaching nearly 35,000 beds. For villas, the expected compound annual growth rate until 2031 is 14.4%.
Meanwhile, branded residences are gaining traction in the Euro-Mediterranean region, with Spain among the most active markets. In Spain alone, there are already 42 developments totalling nearly 2,100 units and an approximate value of €3.5 billion.
Málaga is consolidating its position as a leading destination , accounting for around 50% of the projects and 60% of the units, thus establishing the Costa del Sol as the leader in branded living in Southern Europe.
This growth is supported by a visitor profile with a high economic impact , with average stays of between four and six nights, which can be extended up to three months in corporate accommodation, and which contributes to greater seasonal stability of the destination.
