My Journey to Santiago de Compostela Part VII

Without any doubt, the wine fountain was the topic of the day and the week… Right after leaving the town of Estella, we went by Bodegas de Irache and got our share of free red wine from the fountain but did not get to visit the wine museum, closed when we walked through the small town.

After going through Irache, we kept climbing to Azqueta to reach the town of Villamayor de Monjardin at the top of the mountain.  The rest of the day was an uneventful ride to Los Arcos for it was almost flat and no towns to cross.  At Los Arcos, we stayed at Casa Alberdi, a small private albergue and enjoyed a nice dinner at Mavi, a restaurant featuring the local menu for Pilgrims.
