My Journey to Santiago de Compostela Part XXVIII

I left the albergue at Liñares shortly before 7:00 am and when I stepped out, I realized it was raining.  It was the first shower since Burgos and it was pouring.  I put on my raincoat and went on the trail, using my headlights to find my way.

I climbed to Alto Do Poio, altitude 1.335 meters, the third tallest mountain on the Camino Frances.  It was raining and cold.  Thank God, my ankle was much better.  I went through the towns of Pedrafita do Cebreiro, Triacastela then Samos.  When I reached a village called Montan, I sat on a bench by myself to eat my daily banana and have a sip of water when I spotted a cat that looked just like my Siamese cat that we had to put to sleep about eighteen months ago.  The cat just laid down close by and suddenly jumped on my lap!!!!  It was a strange feeling having the cat laying on me and not wanting to leave.  I felt that it was Boots my cat who had come from the afterlife to pay me a visit.  So I petted him (or her) and he/she just stood still.  And as suddenly as he/she had jumped on my lap, he/she climbed down and left.

It rained all day on the way to Sarria, where I finally arrived at 5:00 pm and after walking the full eight hours and met with Nadine at the albergue.
